The project is part of the national community development plan with over $6 billion of total investment; It has a future urban planning for one decade and is the first smart living community in Australia. The planning includes large scale shopping centres, schools, parks, waterside walkways, sporting fields, libraries, community centres, light rail and ferry transport hubs.
Shopping: There is a large shopping centre within the neighbourhood, with a Coles supermarket among other big brand store. There’re many other convenient stores and cafes located across the street blocks.
Leisure: There’re many parks with big areas in the neighbourhood. The large Blaxland Park is just across the river from the village, a great place to relax and spend time with your family. The waterside walkway along Parramatta river has excellent views surrounded with green grass.
Village Smart Living App: The village has its own app for every resident in the neighbourhood. The smart app can handle all planning from train timetable to restaurant bookings, it is the first of its kind in Australia.
Transport: The government is planning to construct a bridge between Wentworth Point and Melrose Park, which will save up to 20mins of travel time for local residents. Meanwhile there’s a frequent free shuttle bus between Melrose Park village and Meadowbank station. There are multiple bus routes travelling directly from the doorsteps of the village to Parramatta city and the Sydney CBD, with further new routes in planning.
